For a Medusa "biography," there is much more Perseus, Athena, and other myths than Medusa in this book.
The most interesting parts of the book, "The Feminist Medusa" and "Medusa as a Contemporary Icon," are 8 and 5 pages; whereas the most boring parts of the book, "Medusa and the Age of Realism" and "The Modern Intellectual Medusa," are 8 and 9 pages. I could care less about Freud's take on Medusa, it certainly didn't need to be 9 pages long (especially when he refutes Freud's claims in the conclusion).
I wish this book was more about Medusa, it would have been more interesting.
