Sad to give this book such a low rating. I feel like I was only excited to read it to find out how the two series come together and what would happen with Chloe and the other gang. It was such a tease hearing about the other cabals and when Lucas Cortez name was thrown around. (I will always love the Otherworld series) I guess if I was younger it would be a great series but I found it was just much of the same, running and hiding. :(

I was positively bored for like 80% of this book. The first 10 and last 10% of the book were the only parts really worth it. I feel like after reading this third book of the series the second book could have been avoided. This book was a lot of the same running and hiding and avoiding the cabals much like book 2.

I’ve said it before but it bears repeating, I looove Kelley Armstrong’s books. They’re really the only paranormal books that I anxiously await these days. So obviously, I was sad to see the series end, but like always this book definitely delivers.

Action packed, slow burn romance, a snarky loveable main character. The Darkness Rising trilogy has everything. There’s twists and turns by the dozen and it makes the book impossible to put down. These are definitely read in one sitting paranormal books. They’re also very fresh. Kelley Armstrong sets all her books (I think) in the same world, but they all have such a different feel and a drastically different feel from other YA PR books. I just love them, can you tell?

The Rising was a fabulous conclusion. Everything turned out just how I wanted it too, but it was a wild unpredictable ride to get there. I’m going to miss Maya and her brave friends. I really hope that Armstrong has some plans for more YA books in the future, because I will never get tired of reading her exciting and addicting stories.

I will admit I was a bit disappointed with the ending. I prefer Maya with Rafe over Daniel. Plus, the whole “fell in love with the best friend” bit is really oversold. I loved the spark and animal magnetism between Rafe and Maya. Overall, a pretty good story.

How is this the last one already? I’m so happy that they are all happy and safe (for now at least). I’m also so happy that we got to see the Genesis kids again and that they are with the Phoenix kids. I’m upset though. I really loved Maya and Rafe. It’s not that I don’t love Daniel, I do. I just wish the book would have at least been longer to kind of ween me off the Maya and Rafe relationship to the Maya and Daniel one. Other than that the book was great.

Well, I was never a fan of Daniel.... Besides that horrible outcome, if was an excellent read. As always, Armstrong is a master of writing. You can help but feel for the characters and long for the world she has so beautifully created. The pace never slowed. There was always a new twist. A new turn. And I loved how she incorporated characters from the Women of the Otherworld Series and Darkest Powers Trilogy. I'd been waiting for the reappearance of Derek and Chloe! In the end, an excellent read. I recommend the series.

Fast-paced.
Maybe a bit too much?

I’m happy about Maya and Daniel.

Happy with the families reuniting.

But... I wish we could get a volume 4 to see how they escape the Cabal.
