The Debt Collector- India Kells

5-stars

I am such a fan of India Kells that I always jump at the chance to read her work, and this book is a great reason why! This book is dark, twisted, steamy, intense, action-packed and romantic all at the same time. Everything I love in a romance read!

Right from the get-go I was hooked, this storyline captivated me and had me on my toes the whole way through. I would absolutely recommend this book to anyone looking for their next steamy romance read!

I give this book 3.5 stars. Tessa has a heart of gold. Always willing to help someone, even if it means never taking a break. Helping a young girl gets Tessa kidnapped. Although, I know she would do it a million times over. Locke is determined to save the young girls being sold. He likes to be in control and hide his emotions to the core.
It had a lot of potential and a great story line. I feel like parts were missing. I also feel like I need to know more about Gage.

I really liked this one. It is not the typical ménage story, but that just made it feel more real. I liked how three dimensional the characters were. I also liked that Tessa wasn’t just going to go with things like so many females in these novels do. This is my first by the author and it will definitely not be my last.

I listened to the audiobook.

Tessa, an ER doctor, meets a mysterious stranger during a shift. He piqued her interest and desire like she hadn't experienced in her life. After saving Amber, a young woman who escaped a sex trafficking ring, she's kidnapped and threatened to return her.

Locke arrives to purchase Amber when he sees Tessa. He convinces Luhther to allow him to lease her. Only trusting his best friend and occasional lover, Gage, Locke fights his attraction to Tessa.

This book was AMAZING!! I was so into the story that when Gage entered the scene, I had to pause and listen again to make sure I heard it right. This is a hot, steamy, and definitely NSFW story. The narration threw me off a little in the beginning as it is from Tessa's POV, but later makes sense once the POV changes. I will say I wish parts of Tessa's POV were a feminine voice. Some of the steamy scenes were slightly odd with a male voice.

Great book by a new to me author, I can see myself hunting down her entire back catalogue if there are more like this! Really steamy, Tessa meets Locke through her work and there is an instant spark, but not enough time to act on it. Fortunately for Tessa, they meet again soon after. This book has action and suspense and includes some outside suspense as well. Gage's introduction is explosive. The chemistry between these three is amazing and will have you burning through the pages, its definitely a 'just one more chapter' kind of book.

I couldn't put this book down. I love the relationship between Locke and Tessa and how she knows how to push his buttons. I wish the book was longer so I could read more of them together.

I listen to the audiobook for this book. It was nice to listen to in the background whilst doing day to day activites. I love the action which was provided within the book and all the drama and heartache. Tess is a very deceiving doctor how much of a risk is she willing to take. Locke seems like a character who would be very hard to get on with and took a while for me to get use to

The first book in a set of three about three men who are trying to overcome their pasts and happen to find love along the way.

The stories in this series do include scenes of MMF romance with tons of heat, so if you like that then this series is for you!

Spice: 🌶🌶🌶 (and believable too!)

I really liked Tessa as a FMC. She’s a headstrong woman who has put herself through medical school and cares about helping others. The tension between her and Locke was there from the beginning and continued to build. I also love Gage, and his propensity to bring some lightness, laughter, and heat, to the page.

I also liked getting Locke, Gage, and Knox’s overall backstory and knowing how they became the men they are today.

The main storyline aside from the romance is Locke, Gage and Tessa working behind the scenes to bring down a human trafficking kingpin and save others. I enjoyed how well the author wrote this aspect, giving enough details to get the point across without taking away from the characters growth and personal relationship.

The writing was very well done and the storyline was fast paced. Highly recommend.

TW: kidnapping, human trafficking, violence, false imprisonment, fighting, and abuse
