Well this finale to the Splintered trilogy just wasn't very good, sadly enough. It took me so long to read this book, longer than it normally takes me, if that tells you anything about it.

Ensnared begins right after the ending to the last one, with Jeb and Allie's mother kidnapped to the Looking-Glass world, AnyElsewhere. Now Allie and her father have to go through the world and save them, and then fix Wonderland which got cursed by the evil Red Queen.

I want to put the blame on the fact that I just waited too long to read this one but I don't think that was it. This book just had so many nonsense things happening that I don't think even the characters in it knew what was going on. Then the fact that 90% of this book is Alyssa trying to figure out which guy to pick. I was okayish with the love triangle in the other books but it was the main thing here and it was so annoying and I just didn't care. I wish she had just picked neither because she decided that she was a strong queen who didn't need a man and all their drama but nah.
SpoilerShe ended up getting BOTH of them. Total cop-out but at least Morpheus pretty much won. What is one human life to an eternity?

My precious Alyssa, share reality with me. Give me forever. We will wreak such beautiful havoc together.
Jeb is awful. I never liked him and he was even worse in this book. He's like Mal from The Grisha Trilogy except 100x more emo and annoying and honestly, this series would have been so much better without him at all and it pains me to imagine what could have been. Morpheus was of course still great but I just wasn't feeling it anymore. Too much unnecessary drama. Too much kissing one and then feeling sad about the other one. Too much of her crying about how they are both a part of her. And not enough any interesting plot. They weren't even in Wonderland!

I started skimming near the end, near the final showdown because it was just too boring, I had been reading this book too long and my interest got lost along the pointless and stupid love triangle. I'm so disappointed.

Such a great series and what an adventurous conclusion!
Great series overall with a fantastic audible narrator. This last novel in the series kept me on my toes and had me tearing up too.
*SPOILER ALERT*
.
.
I wish there was a more detailed end to β€˜part I’ of her life with Jeb at the end of the book instead of just a short vague epilogue but the way it was written when she went to Morpheus in Wonderland was *chefs kiss*

I have very mixed emotions about this book, especially the ending.

Spoiler If you drag your readers through a intense love triangle, at least make her choose. I felt this was the easy way out and closely resembled another poplar YA series.

I absolutely love everything about this series, and it is definitely one my favorite series I've read!! I can not wait to get my hands on Untamed and see what else this beautifully mad series has to offer! I if you like creepy retellings full of snarky characters and wonderful adventures, then you guys should absolutely read the Splintered series!!

😭😭😭😭😭 my heart! This book was, by far, the best in the series! This one caused every feeling possible in me, I think.

I laughed, I gasped, I worried, I guessed, I was wrong, i was right, I was mad, I was happy... and the END. Ugh, the author did SUCH a good job wrenching at my heart. I think Jeb may be one of my fave characters ever. πŸ₯Ί I liked Morpheous and his character growth, but Jeb has such a big f*cking heart and everything in this book just... ugggggh. It was good. The whole series was good, but dang... this book made it great.
