#readingchallenge (http://www.popsugar.com/love/Reading-Challenge-2016-39126431)
A book recommended by someone you just met (The "someone I just met" is my new therapist).

Good book with lots of great information but if you're not all Jesus-y, you need to really pick through the biblical references to get to the meat. I don't mind doing that and soldiered through. I found what I was looking for and gained some insights that I can put into practice because they're good for me, not because some old dudes tell me it's the right thing to do.

This book was soooo good, so helpful. There is so much useful information in it that I feel I will need/want to read it at least 2 more times.

Some of this was stuff I have picked up...from others who have learned from Cloud and Townsend. There was a lot that I hadn't heard before though. Some of it is useful for me and some useful in counseling situations. If you are in leadership or ministry, the ideas found in this book are a must for you.

I was not a fan of this approach. It precluded the opportunity to sit down and actually have discussions, it felt misogynistic, and was heavy-handed on religion.

This book mentions seems to be centered on Christianity teachings, which is fine, but not really what I’m looking for at this very moment

This is a book I recommend all Christians to read. If you're not a Christian it will conflict with your views since it is written by Christian authors and for Christians: simply written for that worldview. I would still encourage you to read it if you're not a Christian, though.

This book is informative and helpful. It has changed the way I view and handle my relationships. There are sections that pertain to marriage and children- you can skip them if they do not pertain to your life, but you may find something useful out of those chapters regardless.

I hope the negative reviews do not keep others from reading this life changing book. It's certainly polarizing.

I listened to the condensed edition. The Scriptural application often felt unnecessary and like a stretch, but the content and advice is solid.
