Well, that was like bloody horror show, O my brothers. This version, released most places outside the US, includes the final, redeeming chapter. I’d seen the movie in high school, based on the US version, and walked away seeing it as violence and evil only for shock value. I don’t know if the last chapter could have redeemed the movie, having taken most of it’s guidance from violence, and little from the character development or inner ethical dialogue.

Review of the audiobook: This version begins with a preface by Anthony Burgess written in the 1980s, which informs the book, and the novel form, in general. It was very helpful to hear it read with the accent that pronounced the jargon.

I’m unclear as to why this audio version included a second reading of the first third (?) of the book in a more Scottish (excuse ill-trained American ears) accent. This portion was never introduced, nor explained.

Me costo bastante seguiré el ritmo a la lectura debido al lengua que utiliza el narrador a lo largo de toda la historia. Sin embargo, me pareció bastante interesante ver como entraban en juego la moral y la ética.

I saw this movie in college (about 40 years ago) and recall it was probably the oddest thing I ever saw and couldn't even watch parts as it was so violent. The book, considered a classic, is one I've thought about reading for awhile thinking I might find more merit in it than the movie. The movie did not have the famed ending 21st chapter, but the edition I read did, which also added to my desire to read it with the ending Burgess intended.

The book didn't significantly change my impression of the movie. It was horribly violent also. I understand the major point Burgess is attempting to make with the book, but the angle he took is just too disturbing to me. The 21st chapter helps some, but still the protagonist does not offer hope for change.

I would give it just one star, but bumping it up to two because of it's creativity and originality in the writing.

Absolutely loved this one and was shocked and delighted to see how faithful the film was to this book. There weren't very many changes and the few that they made for the movie were ones that I was glad to see. Absolutely twisted tale on delinquents and how the justice system thrives on creating a culture of hyperviolence.

What a weird book! I saw the movie in college (a million years ago) and thought it was strange as well, but I feel like the book is next level. The language, the glee in wrong-doing, the questions of morality vs free will. So much to dissect.
