"I finally found a way to live without hurting anyone."
Uhm... what was that ending? It was so abrupt! This story did not deserve that at all. I don't know how I feel about this webtoon, it was really interesting for the most part and then the ending was so rushed and apparently they changed/skipped a lot from the light novel. What could have been a 4 star is now a 3.5 star. And that's sad.
Graphic: Confinement, Self harm, Violence, Blood, and Murder
Moderate: Child abuse

-Spoilers Ahead-
The story itself is really good and unique, and I found myself really enjoying this. However, the way that Midnight Studio abuses its authors and artists is not good. I read the webtoon rather than the novel, and as I came to the end, I was left unsatisfied. I went to the comments to see if other people felt the same way and found out that they did. In addition to that, I found out that the ending was rushed and a lot of the stuff from the novel was either changed or not included at all in the webtoon, which I was disappointed about.
Apparently, Midnight Studio was putting too much pressure on its artist to produce art more quickly that they ended up quitting, and the result of that was the studio releasing all the finished chapters even though it made the ending very abrupt. I did not enjoy the ending, particularly because I feel like more could have been done. Ja Hyun was such a big part of this webtoon, but his ending didn't really seem complete to me.
Honestly, Soru deserved better than everyone in this whole thing combined, and I honestly felt so bad for her because she never actually got to live a normal life like she wanted to. Not even in the end. She was abused and used by everyone in the webtoon, and the best character was literally the demon who had stolen her sight. Yato was the better guy between Ja Hyun and him. Every time Soru was in danger, he was always the one coming to rescue her rather than her supposed to be husband. Ja Hyun could not even have a conversation with Soru for 10 seconds without yelling at her. She always seemed so scared in his presence, and the fact he kept saying horrible things to her and didn't even seem to accept his feelings for Soru really made me root for Yato.
In the webtoon, Soru still has feelings for that bastard Ja Hyun even after he abandoned her to get beaten by a mob of people while she was trying to save his life. She lives her life with Yato, but it doesn't seem her love for Ja Hyun is over. However, in the novel, Soru gets over Ja Hyun and lives a happy life with Yato, which would be the perfect ending since Soru deserves all the happiness possible after everything she's been through. In the novel, it's also clearer just how abusive Ja Hyun was. He cheated on her multiple times and didn't really seem to care about her.
In the end, even when he claims to love Soru, he still marries that purple princess and lives a life as king. At least he was miserable all the time without Soru, but that's what he deserved after treating someone so pure and innocent, in such a disgusting manner.
The start and middle of the story are really promising and good, but the ending just kind of ruined it for me. I don't think this is the author's fault, but rather Midnight Studio that can't treat its employees properly.
