This book was a great introduction to zines, though if you are more into digital design, you'll want to find a secondary resource. It definitely inspired my own WIP zine, but the digital aspects of it are being learned through self teaching. Over all, this book is a good primer, and a great place to get ideas you may not have considered.

What a great little book. It offers plenty of practical tips, basic definitions, and a look at the ever-shifting zine ecosystem. As a fellow arts event organizer and occasional small, small publisher, I love to see competent events/publishing advice that emphasizes how much work it is and what kind of people you need involved. I also appreciate all the different creative ideas offered for making the zines themselves, but also creative marketing and community-building tips. You can do a lot on a DIY, almost-zero budget, if you're willing to put in the work.
