Absolutely loved this book. The diversity and representation is great. The story is gripping and Vintage is one of my new favourite characters.

Wonderfully written characters. Amazing world building. Interesting fantasy creatures. End-of-the-world type crisis. Impending doom. Wonderful fight sequences. Science?? A hint of romance (prob just me shipping for no damn reason). What more can I ask for?

This was honestly an incredible first instalment to the trilogy and I can see why it’s so well loved. I do believe it’s not as popular as it should be. Williams is an incredible storyteller and I loved every second reading this book. Never a dull moment.
If you’re looking to read a very well rounded book with 3 dimensional characters and a very interesting world, I highly highly recommend this!

A perfect blend of sci-fi and fantasy molded into a masterpiece.
The world-building and how the story is structured were just so great, especially the way the letter excerpts were written and placed throughout the chapter beginnings.
The character development is not only evident in their actions but also in their internal struggles, fears, and growth over the course of the narrative. Whether it's a seasoned adventurer haunted by past choices or a newcomer discovering hidden strengths.I found myself immersed not only in a world of magic but also in a world where magic and nature coexist in a delicate dance of power.
With its well-crafted plot, vibrant characters, and a touch of the unexpected, this book stands out as a masterfully crafted fantasy novel that leaves readers eager to read the next installment.
I can't wait to read "The Bitter Twins" and see what's in store for Tor, Noon, and Vintage.
