This book is gritty and mysterious. I love a good PI novel and this one did not disappoint! The more I read the more I was hooked. The charictors were easy to fall in love with flaws ans all and the over arching story left me wanting more!!

Claire Dewitt isn't a sassy, fun-loving, wise-cracking detective. She is a cynical, hard-boiled, vice-ridden mess with a superb track record of solving mysteries and a dark history. Now she finds herself in a post-Katrina New Orleans. A place where happily ever after just doesn't happen. This is quite a strange mystery within a mystery with a floating time line and shifting plot.

Not my favourite book but if you're into detective work, it's not too bad. It's not for everyone but I gave it a try anyways. It's not bad but I won't read it again any time soon.
