Not my favourite book but if you're into detective work, it's not too bad. It's not for everyone but I gave it a try anyways. It's not bad but I won't read it again any time soon.
Moderate: Addiction, Drug use, Gore, Gun violence, Mental illness, Pedophilia, Racial slurs, Suicide, Violence, Murder, and Alcohol

So when I started this series, I accidentally read the third book first. I loved it, but jumping back in time to the first book was a little weird. Still a great book, but I probably would have enjoyed it more if I hadn't already read the third. They definitely stand up as individually books though, I didn't even realize until I went to read the next book that I started in the wrong order.
I really liked the intertwining of the hurricane and New Orleans with the mystery.
Spoilers ahead, literally just about to talk about massive plot spoilers. YOU ARE WARNED. Vick was a pedo, and Andre's friend killed him. Andre trying to cover it up and the back story with Constance was cool. I think that's my favorite part of these mysteries, the layers to them.
