The third volume of Preacher is exactly what you'd expect. It's absurd, violent, disgusting, and vile happenings carried by a unique story with characters with a lot of potential for depth.
I really liked the backstory for Cassidy and the look inside The Grail.
Overall 5/5 hogs because I love Preacher and this didn't disappoint.

The Crusaders arc makes up the bulk of this collection, and it's fine. God has one absolutely hysterically funny panel, wherein He's an even bigger prick than in his previous appearance.
The other three issues are better. The first has more background on Jesse's dad, and the last two detail Cassidy's becoming a vampire and his immigration to the US, with emphasis on his relationship to NYC. These issues are lyrical and pretty at times, and that's almost always what gets me about Preacher, is how really human and even elegiac it can be despite the constant barrage of absurdly OTT violence and sex and foul language and blasphemy and all that good stuff.

Jesse Custer and company take on the "Grail" and Allfather D'Aronique in this volume of Preacher. Custer also takes on some old family members, as well. Cassidy pretends to be Custer and winds up getting imprisoned and shot up pretty badly. Gory, brutal, and irreverent. I shouldn't like this comic, but I do.

once upon a time preacher was the greatest thing I had ever read. now I've moved on a bit from being an angry recovering catholic and I'm not so invested in anything blasphemous.
I still quite like it, but it doesn't seem as mind bogglingly compulsive as I remember it to be.

Okey-Dokey!
The book begins giving insight into JC’s father.
Then it continues with the journey of JC trying to save Cassidy from big fat self-claimed god.
The later part of the book is all about ‘Proinsias’ Cassidy’s backstory.
At quite a few point in time, I realised it was getting uninterested and bit stretched, too.
However, there will always be bump in the road, which doesn’t mean it’s an end of the road.
Looking forward to the next edition!
