Enjoyed this open door romance for what it is: light, humorous, and somewhat a little excessive. It’s also full of great tropes: grumpy cinnamon roll, city girl vs country boy, one tent forced proximity, and plenty of banter.

Overall, it was a bit underwhelming than I was expecting, but I enjoyed it. The genre listed and the description made me think this would be more romantic suspense, especially since the main character is searching for her missing sister.

Still a cute easy going read.

  • This is like a cozy romance book cosplaying as a mystery book and I love it.  Also, the cover is a bit deceptive- it makes it look like the book takes place in the summer, but it takes place in winter (just fyi).       Super cute,  super adorable, super fun, and a super fast read.
  • Grumpy/ sunshine✅
  • No miscommunication or third act break up (thank god) ✅
  • Attention grabbing ✅
  • This makes me wanna go hiking. So fun and both of the main characters are definitely hufflepuff.

Spoilers****

  • Offhanded mentions of things that fossilize this book in a certain time/ socially cultural moments give me an ick, and this book certainly did the with the mentions of TikTok, luckily it only happened a few times
  • There is an odd reoccurring mention of how the Mac doesn’t eat a lot/ the mmc is constantly commenting that she needs to eat more which is 🥴 no great tbh, and feels very odd and out of place in this book.

  • Winston made her heart shaped pancakes 🥹 and literally dropped everything he was doing to help her find her sister
  • Dahlia is a literal ride or die for the people she cares about!! When she ran from the bear but the bear also ran from her 😂 my favorite scene for sure.
  • I wasn’t expecting the action fight at the end, and even tho most of it was Winston and the pov we were in was Daliah, I was still not expecting them to literally raid and blow up a meth lab lmao.
