“So remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. It matters that you don’t just give up. Unleash your imagination. Shape the future.”

As always, Stephen, with your intelligence, eloquence, wit and empathy, you have floored me. You will be missed. Couldn’t look at your picture at the end of the book without breaking into tears.

What a brilliant mind. I also find him to be very funny. It is interesting to me that the two of the scientific books I have read this week have had humor thrown into the mix of very serious facts. It makes it so much easier to understand. I guess I usually see scientist as very straight laced, but I don’t think that’s an accurate stereotype/generalization. This book gave me a lot to think about & has changed my opinions on how I view space exploration.

An interesting book, at times fascinating. It is marred by an awful, interminable introduction and more than a little repetitive points near the end of the book. The ideas are often profound and occasionally frightening. Well worth reading -skip the introduction..

Unfortunately this book, written by a great man, wasn’t for me. I tend to like some non-fiction informative books between my fiction reading but just wasn’t interested in most of the questions answered in this book. Besides, the answers were at some points hard to understand for an outsider.

Amazing read. The simple and powerful language that Stephen uses to describe the most complex ideas is mind blowing.

Few quotes from the book that had a deep impact-
“Our future is a race between the growing power of our technology and the wisdom with which we use it. Let’s make sure that wisdom wins”

“So remember to look up at the stars and not down at your feet. Try to make sense of what you see and wonder about what makes the universe exist. Be curious. And however difficult life may seem, there is always something you can do and succeed at. It matters that you don’t give up. Unleash your imagination. Shape the future”
