I worried that this was gonna get too crazy for me but you know, Thompson writes so coherently through this incessant drug-fuelled odyssey that it’s all good. And he always gives you a sense of the stakes, which are as high as our characters, which also makes it hilarious.

A hell of a ride that follows Thompson and his attorney through a binge of drugs and alcohol that seems to defy logic and pay homage to the aftermath of a failed 1960s revolution. This is a literary version of vomiting the drugs of a decade across the pages of a new one.
