Jinwoo is making his way through the demon castle inside a very difficult dungeon. He comes across a demon who can speak, and it turns out she’s a daughter of a powerful demon family that has been placed in the dungeon to protect it. She barters for her life by promising to help Jinwoo get magic items that will allow him to advance to the next floors. Jinwoo wipes out every powerful family on floors above hers, effectively leaving her clan in charge until the dungeon resets. But most importantly, Jinwoo can finally craft the Elixir of Life and see if it cures his mother. In another part of the world, giant evolving ant beasts have wiped out an entire Japanese island and are threatening the mainland of Korea and other islands of Japan. Several S-Rank hunters from Japan concoct a plan to launch an attack on the island, with the help of S-Rank Korean hunters.

Jinwoo's tough tower challenge comes to an unexpected pitstop when the demon elite that he defeated last volume turns out to be a cute demon girl whose family was conscripted into this "game" and given a role to be an obstacle. That just begs the question WHO & WHAT is powerful enough to pluck demons out of their own realm to be put into this odd little in-between zone to test the mettle of a player? Thankfully, with her help he's able to trounce all that stand before him, making him the BIG BOSS, but as a thank-you, he cedes the power to the cute demon girl & her family.
Regardless, the BIG thing that happens is that monsters are spilling out into the real world at an alarming rate and threatening the Korean mainland from an island they're popping out of. Thus, the Japanese send their own squad of super-elite ass-kickers to help the Korean squad of super-elite ass-kickers to stop the mutant ant menace. A lot of the action pages are dedicated to both nations' Hunters flexing on the others, so you know there's not too high of stakes, with lots of talk about "wow that guy is so much stronger/faster" or "has he been holding back on me?" and "how has Japan/Korea been hiding you for so long?"
Regardless, next volume promises MUCH higher stakes as the raid starts and almost immediately goes belly-up.
