If we pick and choose which urgent crises to take seriously, the end result will be an inability to effect change on any of them.
I remember back when the IPCC’s Special Report on Global Warming of 1.5 ºC came out in 2018 that really spurred a lot of momentum, engagement and energy around taking real, emergency action to on climate change mitigation and the push for radical transformation of vast systems that have pushed us into this mess. Reading this book was a great reminder of the urgent need to take action NOW, to remember all the ways in which struggles are all interconnected, and a deep desire for change. This is one of the more readable books I’ve read by Naomi Klein and I’d recommend this one to anyone who’s new to climate change mitigation and environmental Justice.
