Despite JK Rowling being problematic I had to ponder how she just pulled this content out of her ass lol

It's been over six years since I've read the series and thought I'd give it another go. I'd forgotten how enjoyable was this book. The narrator, Jim Dale, is superb.

This is such a comfort read now. It’s one of those worlds that I love and feel really nostalgic about and joyful reliving each time I reread any part of the series. That being said, I really grapple with not wanting to support JK Rowling and her harmful, hateful views so reading HP always makes me think of the discussion frequently centered around Richard Wagner about enjoying art for art’s sake and separating it from the artist. Still not sure that’s so possible, especially with royalties but since I bought these books years ago, I’m not putting new money in her pocket by reading them, thankfully.

As for HP1 I just love the wit of the characters. It’s fun and invigorating. That’s what I clung to during this reread.
