Moderate: Death, Domestic abuse, Genocide, Hate crime, Pedophilia, Racial slurs, Racism, Rape, Sexism, Sexual assault, Sexual violence, Slavery, Torture, Violence, Xenophobia, Police brutality, Antisemitism, Grief, Religious bigotry, Sexual harassment, Colonisation, and War
Note: I have included warnings as moderate, not graphic because the themes are very serious but there are rarely graphic depictions of violence (notable exception: lynching imagery is briefly mentioned as part of a memorial museum visit). Some might even consider these to fall under the Minor category, as they are mostly descriptions. The author includes some content warnings in the introduction and at the beginning of chapters and encourages you to skip if you need to. I want to emphasize that the book frequently discusses and mentions topics of violence and trauma, but as general topics with some narrative examples of microaggressions or events following the key event. There are of course content warnings I may have missed or forgotten.webb_beb's review against another edition
