I didn't know this was the second book in a series! The fact is this story all made sense anyways. I love, love, loved this book. I liked all the characters except Tom who annoyed the hell out of me. The characters were fun and exciting. And I am desperate for the next book! I'm going to buy the accidental life of Jessie Jefferson soon even though this story made perfect sense. This book got rid of my reading slump

I’m a massive fan of Paige Toon’s writing, both her adult and her young adult books. I just love how all of her characters exist in the same sort of ‘world’. I love the connections and random mentions of other characters. It’s always seamless, and makes me feel like I know the characters. So, I was very much looking forward to reading the next book in the Jessie Jefferson series which is Paige’s young adult series.

This book can definitely be read as a stand alone, but I personally thing it’s a much richer reading experience if you’re familiar with Jessie and her background. It just enhances the book! I will say though, that this is an exciting addition to the first book, following Jessie who I think is an amazing character and her famous Dad Johnny Jefferson, who is one of my favourite male characters ever. (Seriously, if you’re into chick-lit please read Johnny Be Good)

Jessie’s life changes when it is made public who she actually is. I Knew You Were Trouble deals with Jessie finding out who her real friends are and working through a long distance relationship when temptation comes her way. This book certainly gives you an insight into how crazy it must be to have famous parents and never really be free to do your own thing. I loved Jessie’s interactions with her dad, and his dad’s wife Meg.

This book is such a fun summer read. It’s easy to devour, well written, ridiculous in parts but ever so entertaining!

I really liked this one. I especially enjoyed that in this book, Jessie feels a lot more mature than in the first one. I also loved that grief is still a topic in this story and especially how it comes and goes in waves.
The side characters were as usual super fun, I especially loved Jessie's friendship with Agnes and I'm looking forward to seeing their bond grow even more.
And of course, I absolutely loved Jessie's family so much. Stu, Johnny and Meg are such wonderful characters and I know for sure that I will reread all the Johnny-books in the future over and over again.
One thing I didn't like that much, is that this book has a bit of middle-book-syndrom. It felt like you have to read the first book to fully understand the story and it's also very clear that there's a third one, since the story cleary isn't over yet.
Overall, I really enjoy this series so far and already can't wait for the final book.

I Knew You Were Trouble was such a fun and enjoyable read! If you’re ever looking for a book you can finish in a day, go check out Paige Toon’s novels because I’ve flown through all 16 or so of her books I’ve read so far. This one was no exception and the only thing that really bothered me about the book was the way Jessie handled her relationship with Tom. Then again, she’s only fifteen and you’ve still got a lot to learn at that age.

So all in all, this was a really good book and I’m going to start reading the last part of this series right away!
