Adorable. The badass tiny bodyguard and the movie star. I liked their different viewpoints and her growth. Sad the best friend was a cliche. But I loved them becoming close and the adventures they go on. Light hearted romance book.

This was so fun!! I’ve been reading a lot of heavy stuff the last few months, and this book was such a breath of fresh air. The writing was super funny and I felt like I was flying through it. If you’re a romantic comedy fan, this is a great one!

I LOVED the narrative voice of this book. The way the story is told made the story and the characters come alive. Also, I love a little bit of snark in a narrator's voice. So many beautiful moments sprinkled throughout a funny, delightful story. I don't remember the last time I stayed up too late to read a book. I think I "just one more chapter-ed" myself a dozen times before I actually went to bed.

If there's one thing that makes me frustrated, it's when I can see the potential of a storyline or a character pairing and the book just doesn't hit it for whatever reason. I'm hoping it's not just Katherine Center's writing, but there were so many odd choices in the style and structure that I couldn't get behind. The tone is all off, with lots of comedic moments and banter but the backstories of both our leads are so steeped in grief and tragedy that I felt jerked between these two moods. Secondly, for a rom-com, there's nearly zero moments of sexual tension, and a lot of Hannah and Jack's relationship occurs during the epilogue. I loved their dynamic, and just wanted more scenes of them together and less of the weird asides to the reader. It's cute, and a good beginner romance, but it was missing a lot of elements for me, personally

WOW! I binged this book in less than 12 hours because I could NOT put it down! a fantastic poolside read 🤌🏼

first of all, you know I’m a sucker for reverse stereotypes - women who can take down a grown ass man with a few elbow punches, men who fall in love first, a found family where the woman is the outsider - I LOVED IT!

while the story centered around hannah and her primary, it was truly the side characters that made it for me. jack’s not so famous famous family was so beautiful and messy, and 100% reminded me of my own family. and hannah’s boss being a big ol softie for her despite his harsh words was 🥹🥹

this is my first katherine center book, but it certainly won’t be my last! the way she’s able to craft a story with intertwining multiple plots is so gorgeous and seamless! I can’t believe we truly got a romance, comedy and mystery all in one 🤌🏼

I have no idea why I didn’t pick this one up sooner! if you’re a fan of romcoms but don’t want the “typical” formula - PICK THIS ONE UP!
