It made me laugh a lot but I'm still in disbelief that all this occurred within five days!

it was a fast read and the steaminess in the book is real!! however, i feel like myles and taylor’s relationship was so rushed. i also dislike how often myles “grunts”. his response is always a grunt and it’s weird. he is also way to over protective over her after knowing her for like 4 days. it’s kinda cringe lol

Tessa Bailey is a favorite for me, and she didn't let me down. Read it in a day while recovering from surgery and there's no better way to spend the day. Myles is the crass man I love, while also being extremely protective.

If you want a rom-com where he falls hard and fast and also is a dirty talking king, it's on the label.

Taylor’s on a much-anticipated vacation in Cape Cod when she discovers a corpse in her rental house. It turns out someone has murdered the rental’s owner and the police think they’ve got it sorted - but Taylor can’t help thinking they’ve got it wrong. Unluckily for her, the sister of the victim has drafted in the help of her boyfriend’s friend - Myles, a surly bounty hunter from Boston who just wants this job over and done with. The minute he sets eyes on Taylor, he knows he wants her - and is desperate to keep her out of the investigation in case she places herself in danger. But Taylor isn’t going to let this go, and the more the two of them start to dig, the more dangerous the situation becomes.

I really loved reading this. It gave me the same vibe as It Happened One Summer but with a little bit more action. It was really cute and fun and the murder mystery aspect was surprisingly solid and interesting. The book is really engaging and if it wasn’t for real life getting in the way I easily could have read it in one sitting.

The real selling point of this book was obviously the romance. If you’re a fan of Tessa Bailey’s more obsessive heroes then this book will probably work for you. Myles is so grumpy but he’s so into her, in a way I found really funny and endearing. Myles has a one-track mind when it comes to Taylor and making her happy and I just loved that. I also really loved Taylor - she was so sweet and cute and I also liked how protective she was over Myles and how she just wanted him to be happy. Their were some really lovely, soft moments between the two of them that were just adorable. And of course, it wouldn’t be a Tessa Bailey book without ridiculously hot sex scenes. There were some really hot and steamy moments in this.

It was just exactly what I wanted it to be. It was such good fun, the mystery was good, the romance was so sexy as well as being sweet, and I liked both Myles and Taylor as characters as well as a couple. It was just really entertaining and exciting and it put a big smile on my face.
