This book is beautiful and full of wonder, but the text is far too small to read. I wish there was a large print option or the font had been bigger. However, unfortunately, it's just not accessible for me.

2.5 stars. Loved the artwork and illustrations. Loved the acknowledgment of the whitewashing of queer history. Despite the US-centric aspect of the history part of the book it still taught me a ton about queer history.
Like many other readers I agree that the handbook portion of this book is…lacking. For example, they use an outdated definition of bisexuality and define asexuality incorrectly (I think they did that twice). The book also mentioned current queer celebrities without acknowledging the controversies that have emerged (like Ellen Degeneres).
Overall I think the history portion of this is a good starting point for queer history, and the artwork is lovely, but the problems outweighed the good for me and while I might lend my copy to a friend (with disclaimers) I wouldn’t recommend spending money on this.
