I have always loved this movie and I love the book too. The differences between the movie and book don’t bother me. Such a great story about the meaning of Christmas. Almost cried at the end (which it’s rare for me to cry with books).

A very small book with a huge message...sitting here, holding it and sobbing....I think I'll be reading this every Christmas.

If you've never read this, I recommend you do so...it's a quick read...only 87 pages...very tiny pages.

And with the recent events involving the deaths of many innocent children, the message of this story really strikes a chord and hits close to home...maybe that's why I'm still crying.

*Cherish your children and your time together with them.

I'm not religious but this was beautiful. Very short, sweet, and a litle bit of a sad and hopeful read.

I read this book in about 1 hour. It was a very sweet Christmas story, my first time ever reading it. I loved the character of Mary, her love of life and her love for the people she brought into her home. Showing them the true meaning of Christmas and the first gift that was gifted on Christmas.

The Christmas Box by Richard Paul Evans is heartbreaking, touching, and truly a wonderful reminder of the love and pain of Christmas. As a parent, the story fed that deep desire for time to slow because children grow all too quickly.

This is a super quick, nonfiction read (only 125 pages) with a hint of holiday magic that ultimately emphasizes the importance of being present and appreciating the time we have with our loved ones while we still can. Like I said, it’s a very short story but it’s worth a read if you happen to have a copy or find a thrifted copy like I did.
