A fun read with some twists! Feels like a romance novel meets thriller.

It was weird how I kept going from being hooked, to being confused with this book. I'm pretty sure I was more confused than the main character which is saying a lot. But, I really did like the message and despite some overdone moments it was an enjoyable read.

I will read everything Sophie Cousens writes. Her books are so lighthearted, fun, joyful, and they tend to make me chuckle. Her books are perfect for when you just want something that feels like warm hug or a pause from life's stresses.

This was one of those books that I thought I knew the ending, and then I changed my prediction, and then I was worried that it was going to end up how I initially thought it would- all of it made me eager to keep reading and see how Audrey's (the MC) story ended up. All in all, it was a great, quick, and enjoyable read!

3. I only care about granny Parker
No one tell the author’s spouse she wrote this book it’s basically a ‘reasons to not get married and have kids’

This was a pleasant surprise.

Now I know a lot of people on the internet and people I know will have my head for saying this but I do not believe in fate, destiny or any of that soulmate stuff. If you come to me and say that some ineffable phenomenon cares about you falling in love with your ''soulmate'', I am sorry but I WILL call bullshit.

I loved how the author toyed with the insecurities and wedding jitters of the FMC and turned it into the fate, soulmate, bad omen crap that multi million dollar corporations feed us to turn up their profits. I really enjoyed all the conversation surrounding ''meant to be''.

I think we get so lost in the rom-com fed idea of ''meant to be'' that we forget that any kind of relationship needs will and efforts. You need to want it and then you need to show you want it consistently. That's what most star-crossed lovers shit lacks.

The main character starts wondering about what if....one day before her wedding when the one that got away unexpectedly turns up. But dont be fooled. This book is so much morethan just a bride having wedding jitters.
This book portrays a relationship that is deeply rooted in reality and not the fairytale most rom-coms seem to get inspired by. And I can see why that would not be what most people want from a romance novel.

I kind of only had one problem with the book, which was the continuosly moving timeline. We move around in time a lot with very small chapters. And my detail oriented brain ends up taking me out of the novel to map out the timeline, which at best is distracting.

And one other thing is more of a personal preference. To be completely honest, the LI we have is so my type that I would believe the meant-to-be crap if I were marrying him.(Yes, I am aware I just backtracked on my earlier point but I am allowed to moon over fictional characters, if you say that to me about a real man, it would not end well between us.)

In short, my contemporary romance fever is still ever present and now I am running out of options I am genuinely interested in.
