Wow, I love Taylor Jenkins Reid. Only reason it doesn’t get 5 stars is because I didn’t cry. She is the same author who wrote 7 Husbands of Evelyn Hugo, and she sticks with the genre of the real inside lives of famous people. The fictional band dynamics are super compelling and the differing perspectives are fun to listen to & makes me think about how much time and memory changes what actually happened. i say that it didn’t make me cry.. but she got close! The flawed character of Daisy when talking about music and what it did for her really tugs at the heartstrings. Again, I’m afraid to watch the show that is in production because the book is so good!

*SPOILER* The only complaint I have is that Daisy and Billy went from despising each other to being in love… enemies to lovers trope but I didn’t really buy it. But was still super fun to listen to. *SPOILER*

This was so beautiful, and the ending floored me. 5/5 stars for sure.

This was a fun read. It really sucks you into the story, and the world of 70s rock and roll, in a way that is utterly believable. (Even though I knew it was fiction, I still found myself googling to see if Daisy Jones & The Six were, by chance, a real band.) The format of the book, told entirely in interview transcripts, only adds to the realness of the story. Definitely worth a read.

One of the best books I’ve read so far this year!
