It's a good book for what it is — fun and a quick read. It was really good to read on the plane. I think that the book could've played a little more with memory and the way it changes, as well as made the ending a bit longer and more reflective, but I liked how she used the narration, such as
Spoiler when you realize that the daughters haven't spoken and that Camila hasn't spoken in a long time, and when you find out that Pete isn't dead, just didn't want to talk about it.
It's a fun book. I'm not sure whether I prefer this or Evelyn Hugo — I think it's an unfair comparison, especially considering that I read them 6 months apart and that they're completely different creatures. I'm excited to watch the miniseries.

really enjoyed this! had virtually no clue what it was about but wanted to read it due to all the hype online. i’m glad i took a chance on it! it portrayed the nuances and complexities of human relationships and emotions so well. i loved and hated every decision the characters made, and when a book depicts imperfect people in a way that still has you rooting for them….let’s just say i’m a happy camper! super excited for the adaptation coming out soon!!

I've had more fun reading the constitution. This legitimately feels like it was written by a corporate sales team that was given "Fleetwood Mac fanfiction" as a prompt. I really need to stop taking book recommendations from tik tok.

Taylor Jenkins Reid does it again. This book is another brilliant work of literature. I practically flew through it and 400 pages have never felt shorter before. The whole story is so captivating, all the different POVs and characters making it exciting all through. I didn’t get bored once. Every character had such a unique and deeply layered personality, even though none of their POVs lasted longer than one or two pages… fascinating. Also, the climax and all that tension leading up to it. I guess the one big question that keeps you going is “Will Daisy and Billy get together or not?”. And I love how it is being answered.

“I looked at Billy at one point and we smiled at each other and I thought, This is happening. I was in a band. I was one of them. The seven of us, playing music.”

i have very complicated feelings about this book but i enjoyed the mess and drama
