I've had more fun reading the constitution. This legitimately feels like it was written by a corporate sales team that was given "Fleetwood Mac fanfiction" as a prompt. I really need to stop taking book recommendations from tik tok.

honestly, i wasn't a fan of this book. i could go on for quite a bit about why, but i'll keep it short. TJR wrote this in a different format than (i believe) most of her books, and i think that's obvious. it was very difficult for me to develop any attachment to these characters. while i liked a few of them, i wasn't able to connect with most. when writing in a new format, you have to be sure you don't lose the characters or the plot, and i think that's exactly what happened. i wasn't really invested in this story, the relationships, the characters, etc. i think the issues in this book were never truly resolved or resolved too quick. i never found myself wanting to pick up this book. i also wish TJR would have better utilized the fact that this was in the 70's. you could have told me the events were set in present day and i would have believed you.

First of all, the format of this book was so well done I'll admit I had to Google to make sure Daisy Jones and The Six were in fact a fake band. Documentaries have gained in popularity in recent years and while I haven't read any (or watched many, either) this one was a fantastic read. It's provocative, emotional, gritty, each character brimming with so much personality especially in the audiobook version (I love it when there's a full cast!). I think Karen was my favorite, followed closely by Warren. Billy was exactly the kind of man I hate- Eddie was bang on about him- but I understand and appreciate his growth towards the end of the book. I personally did not understand Camilla and Billy's relationship, how they were able to stay together through everything... I have a lot of trust in my husband, but there were a lot of... extremes here. I guess that's kind of the point. 4.5/5 stars.
