I thought the storytelling was very interesting, but ultimately this is a book where you need to care about the characters to want to keep reading. I did not care about the characters at all. There was really nothing to make me like them. Any of them. Except Karen. I kinda liked her.

My other issue is that this book seemed to be an ego stroke for the author. She would include these fake lyrics to these fake songs and have the characters be like, "Wow, these lyrics are so profound and amazing. This is ground breaking, earth-shattering groovy music, man." And I just wish she hadn't included them at all. In fact, they greatly detracted from the book.

This book was written in a different style than I have previously encountered but it worked extremely well. I loved the dynamic of perspectives played with and how the truth can be twisted in many ways to fit the narrative someone wants. I read this after the Seven Husbands, and personally I loved this book and this style.

I feel like I’m missing what everyone else was seeing in this book. It was just…. kind of boring. Nothing really happened that blew me away. I sort of struggled to even get through the book, and that’s rare for me. I NEVER DNF a book, but I considered it many times with this one. I get the idea behind it, I guess it just wasn’t for me.

I still don’t know how to feel about this. I loved it, i did but now that I have finished it, it feels like something was missing. Don’t get me wrong, I had a great time reading this but maybe I just couldn’t relate enough to these characters and so the ending fell a little flat for me. PLUS the ending is what TJR does in EVERY book she writes and the twist is just a little repetitive. BUT I absolutely fell in love with Karen and Camila and was so convinced that they would end up falling in love.

To be honest, when I started reading this book, I wasn't really into it, mainly due to the author's  writing style. Taylor wrote this book in the 'play script' style, where one member of the band is speaking, then it goes to the next person and continues with everyone's point of view all mushed together. It's not the kind of style I typically like, which is why it took me so long to get into the book.
But let me tell you, I am so f-ing glad I stuck with this book until the end!! I seriously could not put it down! This book is so incredibly beautiful, very complex, and such a heart throb; it even had me crying at the end. Even the way Taylor wrote this book, it fit with the story, and it made the book that much more layered and incredible. I so wish Daisy Jones & The Six were a real band :)
I fell in love with Daisy Jones & The Six, and I know you will too  🫶🏼🫶🏼
