Personally I found it a little slow and hard to get into at the beginning but once I was past that, it was worth it. So if you're at that point - give it the benefit of the doubt.

Sceptic reporter Lionel Page is recruited by wealthy Regina Dunkle to investigate a lost story by Poe and see if it's real or not. In doing so, he's drawn into a world of magic and mayhem with just a little self discovery on the side for good measure.

I enjoyed reading it a lot.
All about magic and Greek mythology. Hekate the goddess of Witchcraft.
Lionel Page discovers his past and avenges for his mother with the help of Madison When Regina Dunkle sends them both on an important quest to retrieve an old manuscript written by Edgar Allan Poe.
His writing style has something of Rick Riordan's and his mythology.

“Ugh." She rolled her eyes. "Ever wonder why that's the conversational default? People always want to know your job. Not what you love, what you hate, but what you do to earn money. What does that say about us as a society?”
