Hairy Horror is one of the shortlisted books for the Surrey Libraries Children's Book Award. I think young readers would be able to relate to this as the book opens with narrator Anna explaining how her mum married Steve who has a son Hal, and together they have Jamie.
One day Anna discovers Hal's most recent project; Tula the giant house work spider!
