I won a free audicopy from the Audrey app in a Storygraph giveaway. The audiobook guide was great, but it was not for me. I am sad to say that I did not really care or connect to the story.

This is a great way to get a taste of Poe. I had only ever read The Raven so I wasn’t sure what his writing was like.

Inevitably I found that it’s not for me, but I really recommend the guides from Audrey without whom I would have been lost with some of these stories.

Highly recommend the audiobook from the Audrey app. The book itself is so creepy and great but I love seeing the artwork and facts the guide’s put at the end of each story. They also have a playlist on Spotify that was fun to listen to.

A nice little collection of stories, although, I will admit, that I struggled to get into  The Cask of Amontillado. I will say that this is ore disturbing than scary though, and kind of sad.

I won a copy of this through the Listen with Audrey app and I will add that I enjoyed the narration and the extra notes are interesting. I suspect they would be useful for school students who are studying the works.

I won this audio copy via a giveaway from the Audrey app. Up until this point I've only ever read "The Raven", but I have to say that I really enjoyed some of the other stories here more. The narration was also excellent, and the bonus information was also very helpful and interesting. This is a great pick for anyone wanting short, classic horror stories. Overall, I will continue to use the Audrey app for more audiobooks. My reasoning for not rating this as five stars is that "The Black Cat" was hard to listen to as a cat lover, as there is graphic animal harm, although for anyone wanting to avoid that, the other stories are unrelated and quite worth the listen.

I received an free audio copy from the Audrey app in a Storygraph giveaway.

As a fan of classics, I knew I would be entranced by a creepy voice narration of Poe’s most famous works. I was already familiar with all of these stories before listening but you can definitely go in with absolutely no knowledge due to Audrey’s guides after the end of each chapter done by Lucy Holmes. The production for this little book was amazing, I loved the background orchestral music and all of the little add ins.

I won an audio copy of The Black Cat and Other Stories in a giveaway of Audrey. As a fan of Poe, I'm happy with extra insights provided as I finish a chapter in the app. Also, the narrator was able to capture the mood of Poe's short stories.

Won it in a giveaway and I quite liked it! I think it kind of failed at scaring me? Mostly it felt like I knew what to expect/what was going to happen. The cat story was tough to listen to I found.
I got the book on the Audrey app and it was interesting to have summaries about the characters/extra materials. I wouldn't have looked for any of it myself so I really liked to see the art! The rest felt like it would be useful for students maybe? Or people who are struggling to understand the book. Anyways, it's an interesting app, I'll def check out other books there.
