4.5 stars. The mystery on this one wasn't quite as good as the first book, but I adore Veronica and Stoker and can't wait to see what they get up to next.

Artist is killed at the home of a dilettante aristocrat who houses a community. A royal is involved. Veronica and Stoker's investigation is pretty good, but there's zero reason for her to do that much opium and you think they'd learn to watch for and ditch the constant police coverage. Average.

Really a 3.5 - 3.75. I enjoy the characters. I enjoy the story. They're like old friends to pop in and visit for a bit. But I'm not rushing to pick up the next book after finishing this one.
