This book is not easy to review. Some portions have been written exceptionally well (the one on unsupervised learning, for example), while some portions are almost unreadable (the one on deep learning being the prime candidate). What I can safely say is that no one should ever recommend this book to someone starting their Machine Learning journey - if this is the first book they read, it might as well be their last. However, if you are aware of at least a handful of algorithms and a decent amount of jargon, it can be safely said that you will enjoy this book. The author has literally tried to cram everything in these 150 pages which means that inevitably you *will* come across passages which might provide interesting insights.

Superb distillation of many interesting and at times rather complex topics. Incredibly precise and condensed writing style - hard to believe at times that it's the just the work of one person. I can't claim to have fully grasped all concepts on a first reading, but I will happily return to this in due course. Highly recommended.

Try to overly pursue brevity with the cost of intuition for beginners to understand.

If you need a quick crash course on the field of machine learning then this is the book for you. The author does a fantastic job at highlighting key techniques and subfields without overloading readers with too much technical detail.

A book that will keep you in good company during your ML journey. Ideally, to be read after you have some intuition/practice in ML so that you can cement better the content of the book

Covers a lot of material at a perhaps problematic level of concision. Uses equations where other authors would use diagrams. It's quite good for review, but if you haven't encountered a topic before, you probably won't be able to follow the author's explanation. This could be useful as a textbook for a course where the instructor provides the necessary scaffolding to follow the text.
