I wish this book would've started differently. This is definitely a book wherein the backstory would've been very helpful to have before we're thrown into the story but given that we're quite literally thrown into the midst of their affair, you spend a great deal of the book playing catch up.

Now that being said, once you're caught up, Will and Charley are impossible not to love. Their relationship may start physically, but throughout the book, you really watch these two fall for each other. Will is there for Charley in all the ways that her husband isn't, and while I don't condone cheating, it can be fun to read a little forbidden romance once and a while.

The ending to this one was crazy, and Matt has most certainly lost his mind. He's the epitome of "I didn't want her until someone else showed interest." I hope he enjoys his marriage to his job because it's obvious that it's the most important thing to him.

disclaimer if you’ve read other reviews by me and are noticing a pattern: You’re correct that I don’t really give starred reviews because I don’t like leaving them. Most often, I will only leave them if I vehemently despised a book.

I enjoy most books for what they are, & I extract lessons from them all. Everyone’s reading experiences are subjective, so I hope my reviews provide enough information to let you know if a book is for you or not, regardless if I add stars or not.

Look, the cheating storyline is not for everyone & that’s fair. To each their own! However, this is my first Q.B. Tyler book & I am *hooked*. Holy shit, why did I not read her books before this?! I’m so serious! Y’all go wild over smut and I don’t hear you screaming crying throwing up over this one! DO BETTER BOOKSTAGRAM (the non-diverse side)😂

I really appreciated the way Q.B. Tyler illustrated a failing marriage, and how sometimes therapy doesn’t get you on the path towards reconciliation and a happier marriage. Sometimes, it simply opens your eyes to why it will never work the way it did before, and that’s okay!

Y’all are so hard on Charley but we all deserve to feel love and to feel romances in our partnerships, no matter how long you’ve been together! I support women’s wrongs because Will was feral for this woman. Obviously parts of this were stressful because you don’t want them to get caught, but ultimately, this was such a fun romp of a book! Yes, it’s heavy & it’s sad to watch someone say goodbye to their marriage, but overall, I had so much fun with this book!

I am about to devour the second book, which I believe is in Will’s POV so excuse me while I sweat as I think about how hot he is hahaha.

The steam was a 4.5/5. The only thing that would have made it hotter was like more sex toys or another partner! But sheeeeeesh this book starts off hot & heavy, & just does not stop! Take breaks & hydrate😂
