This book wasn’t what I thought it would be and as much as an origin story goes it’s not great.

The last 10% pulled it into the 3 star mark for me.

For the most part, I really did not like Snow and although it explains his position and backstory for The Hunger Games, this book made him very bland.

Would have been nice to get the other characters views and to have them properly fleshed out but Collins didn’t bother and I must say they book felt like a cash grab than actual thought about origin story.

I did enjoy understanding why the Mockingjay and District 12 had such significance to Snow.

My sweet, stupid son Sejanus deserved so much better.

Fuck you, Snow lol.
