I went into this book completely blind and didn't realize it was a hockey romance until I read the trigger warnings and saw "inappropriate use of a hockey stick"! I knew I was in for a wild ride 🤣

This was a quick read and very fast paced. It's not quite a dark romance and it's not quite a romcom... It's somewhere in-between. The tension hits hard and the spice is spicy throughout.

This is a great contemporary romance standalone that I recommend to all romance readers, especially those who would like to dip their toes into something a bit darker without plunging headfirst into a truly depraved story.

Easy read, must check it out if you like hockey romance. There was a mix of romantic moments and spice, and there was an actual plot as well!

So to be honest up through the first maybe third of the book I was teetering on possibly DNFing it. I really disliked the main character. The way he talked to Liza, as insufferable as she was she didn’t deserve to be talked to like that. I just overall didn’t like him. As I pushed through and kept reading the things I didn’t like about him changed. Whether that was him growing as a character or because of who he surrounded himself with I’m not sure, but once this change happened I enjoyed the rest of the book so much more. It was a fun, spicy read. This story is stuffed full of OMG moments, some jaw drops and a gasp, along with some sweet and romantic moments. First one third aside this book is a worthwhile, quick read.
