This book is a very good YA Thriller/Mystery. The fact that it is somehow inspired by a certain R&B singer who was a sexual predator/cult leader made it even more disturbing to read.

I know how it feels when you are head over heels for someone who promises so much but deep down, you know that it's wrong, that it's LEGALLY wrong. They say that love is blind. That was how Enchanted felt in the beginning.

I did not give this book any more than a 4 out of 5 stars because I wasn't too comfortable reading this. Do check out the trigger warnings in this book.

Very good. To be honest, if I would have realized the subject matter of this book before starting it, I would definitely not have read it as I tend to avoid this topic. Although uncomfortable at times, this was really well written. A little dramatic… similar situations can definitely happen without quite as much publicity and drama. And might I also note that this can happen to anyone of any race… not just African American girls. But other than the sort of race exclusion and excess drama, this was quite realistic, and not one of those disgusting “age gap” romance fantasies I hate.

Whoa. I had no idea what was coming as I started this book. All I knew was I loved The Weight of Blood and wanted to read more by Tiffany D. Jackson.

The rage this book made me feel... I almost thought about turning it off. I understand how terrible people (mostly men, but not always) can be. BUT it's important. Stories deserve to be told and read. People in Enchanted's situation can't safely turn it off, so I felt I should keep going.

Chapter 88, the second last chapter, had some satisfying dialogue that -- to me -- summarized some of the important points of this story.

"It's just interesting how you assume a girl is crazy rather than believing her the first time she tells you something."

Grown is not for the for the faint of heart, but I hope reading it can make us all think. While we may see only the good sides of a person, that doesn't mean they aren't capable of bad things. That doesn't necessarily mean we need to assume the worst, but we need to listen.

Note: This is the same narrator as Nightcrawling. She is incredible. It took me a second to shift my association with her voice to a new story.

I don't think I'm a fan of Jackson's writing. It feels so.....middle schooler's first Wattpad book to me.
