Carla Cherry takes the reader on a walk through the life of a young girl onto womanhood. This walk is paved with challenges such as skin issues, self-esteem, learning who we are, and pushing through life. Cherry opened her life to the reader through her prolific poetry. The words, the illustrations, the messages were clear and relatable. Bravo for sharing these tender moments and for inspiring others to look at their lives. This reader came from this experience with appreciation for the message and the messenger.
