Reread Divergent and Insurgent over the last two days, and I have to admit that I appreciated them even more the second time around. The first time I read Insurgent I wasn't very impressed. This time reading it right after finishing Divergent made me enjoy it that much more. Since I'm on the West coast there is still an hour and a half until I can start Allegiant! I can't believe it is finally here! With a cliff hanger like Insurgent it makes the wait time seem like forever! Can't wait to get my hands on this book and see what happens next!!

For me honestly I don't think this book lived up to my expectations. I liked it, but its not something I would rave about. I think the biggest problem I had was connecting with Tris, she was hard to understand, emotional and just a flat character. I love the idea of this book but divergent was just a little too long for my taste. this book didn't wow me but I did like it. The first few chapters are my favorite parts about the book but it kinda went downhill for me at the mid-part of the book. Just don't go into this book thinking it will be like the hunger games. Other than tris and four, i thought all the other characters were great and very descriptive.

Definitely falls in line with the usual young adult tropes but addresses some deeper political and ideological issues, while keeping a lot of the main character's focus on the love interest.
