Especially fun if you are a library or literature enthusiast!
Only three stars because the dialogue between the kids was awful! Listening to Akimi and Miguel talk was particularly hard and really put a damper on my experience of exploring such a fantastic library setting. While I enjoyed watching some of the kids becoming closer friends, the characters themselves were pretty flat.

Hm. I don't really know how I feel about this book. On the one hand, this book was not written for me a 25 year old woman, and I did enjoy the mystery and thinking that the reader has to do in the book. But on the other hand, I didn't really care for the plot and I didn't really care for the characters. So I'm kinda just so so about it. It was a fairly quick read, but I don't think this would be a reread for me.

Full of puzzles and adventure! However, there is the cheesy underlying message of "teamwork makes the dream work". The kids seemed to enjoy it though. Maybe it is only cheesy to adults? Best for kids aged 8-12.

This is the first middle school book I've totally enjoyed. It's like The Name of the Rose, but with more specific book recommendations.

Ridiculously clever and a boatload of fun. I love how Grabenstein has crafted an entertaining story for all types of readers that stresses the importance of books and libraries as well as all of the information hidden within them without getting heavy-handed. I enjoyed trying my hand at the various puzzles alongside the challenge participants, and was tickled that Grabenstein included a bonus one at the end for his readers. I look forward to reading more books in this series and seeing what other tricks Mr. Lemoncello has up his sleeve!

I read this with my 9 year old son. He loved solving the puzzles in the book as we went. A fun book that showcases libraries. Recommended for ages 7-10.

I actually liked this book:) While I was reading this book, I learned the importance of working as a team. As the group of Kyle, Miguel, Sierra, and Akimi did, they teamed up to escape the library of Mr. Lemoncello. While escaping the library, they need Logic, critical thinking, problem-solving, and teamwork. The setting of this book is Alexandriaville, Ohio and the place kind of exists but it changed a few words.
I liked a few of the characters and the book also mentions a list of books(which I like) and there are also quotes from it. It was enjoyable, fun, and exciting at the same time. And I was planning to read the next book of it which is Mr. Lemoncello's Library Olympics
