I really really enjoyed my time with this. I adored the connection Cindy and Henry had and loved the relationship Cindy had with her whole step family. Can't wait to read the second in the series, I have high hopes after this one.

This was literally so cute! I loved the whole premise and the take on Cinderella meets the Bachelor was perfect.

I didn't intend to finish out 2020 by reading two books about plus-size fashionistas who go on Bachelor-esque dating shows, but I'm really glad I did because they were both absolutely delightful. I'm so glad that 2020 was the year that I decided I should be reading more romantic comedies.

It's impossible to read this almost immediately after [b:One to Watch|53103895|One to Watch|Kate Stayman-London|https://i.gr-assets.com/images/S/compressed.photo.goodreads.com/books/1584401917l/53103895._SX50_.jpg|73881997] and not compare them, but that's not entirely fair. In that one, the lead character was the suitor and in If the Shoe Fits, our heroine is one of the gaggle of singles hoping to be the last one standing. It's also the first entry in a planned series of fairy tale retellings, very loosely following a Cinderella-like structure and updating it for 2020.

In this take, Cindy is a recent college graduate hoping to break into a career in shoe design. However, she's moving back home from NYC to LA to start work as a nanny for her stepmom who just so happens to be the executive producer of the reality dating show Before Midnight. Because they're still a few ladies short of a full mansion, Cindy and her two stepsisters end up getting recruited to vie for the affections of Henry McKenzie, the heir to a fashion empire...and who just so happened to have been sitting next to Cindy on the plane to LA. Cindy sees the show as an opportunity to get her name out there and maybe get a proverbial foot in the door of the fashion world. She figures that as the lone plus-size cast member, she's almost certainly the first one to go home, right?

Because Julie Murphy is known for her young adult novels, this book wasn't nearly as sexy as One to Watch but that's okay because the romance here was charming enough without it. The plot was also way more predictable and the ending felt a bit rushed but that's okay because Cindy herself was so much fun. I can't wait for the rest of this series.

Cindy

I absolutely love fairytale retellings and this might be a favorite. They give me hope that I might find my happily ever after some day.

This is my first book by the author and her writing style is adorable.

I loved this book, it’s a proper feel good romance (a genre I don’t read a lot off. Cindy was such a fantastic character to follow and I loved the whole reality TV concept.

Will definitely be reading more by this author.
