An excellent completion to the trilogy. I repeat that I'll be delighted to give these to my nephew in a few years. As an adult, I really enjoyed DJ's viewpoint and worldbuilding, and so I liked the first book the best, for the introduction to the ideas. Not to take away from the others, I'm just a little less interested in the action and plot progression. It's very good for the right audience and loads better than some books I read at that age.

Great read.
Excellent fast paced ending to the trilogy. I miss the characters already. Can’t wait to see what else Older puts out.

Well ok.
It took me a while to get into this one. I swear it seemed like the problems where just going to keep piling up and never get any solutions. I don’t know how I feel about the heroine always being a step behind or whatever but I enjoyed the series overall.

this would probably be more compelling to actual fantasy fans. i didn't love all the backstory in this book--too much history and magic, rather than just sticking with the contemporary characters i loved. also it changed perspective a lot and that was hard for me.

As with all of these books, I'm working on the assumption that teenagers in new york are all just like this.

This was a great conclusion to the series! Very relevant to now without feeling like it was trying too hard. I did feel like there was a little too much crammed in here and at times it got a little too hectic or jumbled. In part 2 or 3 there was a chunk where there were a lot of 2-3 page chapters back to back jumping from one POV to another, and I felt like that undercut the tension/suspense a little bit rather than building it up. But the writing and characters are still great and I loved that Sierra solved the Deck of World problems once and for all by operating outside the rules instead of learning to play within them.
