The story is fun and imaginative, with gorgeous art. Also love the underlying message of sharing, generosity and looking out for one another.

Ah, adventures! Ah, the things an umbrella can be! Ah, friendship! And oh my my - language!
"I crossed deep oceans on my boat and faced the crash of icy waves... the stars were my guide and my boat a faithful friend," said the Hedgehog.

Sweet story about how an umbrella is something special for each character. Can they figure out how to use it together?

What is an umbrella? The word actually means "little shade", even though we use it to keep the rain off us, instead of the sun. So, it shouldn't be too unusual that all the animals claim that Elephant's umbrella is not only theirs, but that it is used for something else, such as to sail in, or to fly with.
The elephant, despite claiming ownership, allows the others to share the umbrella, to keep out of the rain. Through sharing, they all be come friends, and enjoy the stories of what others have done with their umbrella.
I'm hovering between a three and a half and four stars on this, but I liked the pictures, and the point of the story, so I think that kids will as well.
Thanks to Netgalley for making this book vailable for an honest review.

My daughter loves rain, and enjoys marching around in wellies, umbrella in hand, no matter the weather. The moment she saw the cover (and the cute mice inside), we had to sit down and have a look.
At first, the story sounded similar to Suteyev's Mushroom in the rain: there's room for everyone. However, the message goes way beyond this. It's OK to see the same umbrella differently - it's a boat, a crane, a tent or a flying machine. It can be anything you want, your imagination is the only limit.
Lively illustrations, cute characters, and an important lesson on friendship, openness and creativity.
Thank you NetGalley and North South Books for this Advance Review Copy.

A very cute book about a variety of animals who all claimed the green umbrella was theirs. Each animal called the umbrella something different; a boat, a tent, etc. A very cute story about sharing and how many different perspectives one object can have.
A little too long for a read aloud. Would be better for one-on-one or upper elementary students.

This is one of the best children's books I had the chance of reading this year. It's a quick and fun read that's primarily intended for kids but can speak to adults just as well, at an entirely different level. The pleasant language and the high-quality illustrations make it remarkably appealing. In my opinion, this short book would go wonderfully with a warm cup of tea on a rainy afternoon. Thanks to its illustrations and story, the book can be an inspiration for parents who like to read to their kids aloud so that the little ones gradually begin to love reading and are attracted by the idea of reading longer and more complex books.
Thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for providing me with an ARC of this book.

I have received an ebook copy of this book for an honest review from NetGalley
This book is a very sweet and imaginative children's' book, which is not too long hence can keep the attention of even very young children,
The illustration is very cute, and corresponds well with the actual storyline.
The writing format is very easy to read, almost follows the format of a poem, yet not as heavy and hard to follow, but still has rhythm to it.
The message of the story is very sweet, of friendships, adventures, imagination, as well as the differences of opinions and experiences on the same subject. Friendships can be formed in the most unlikely places, with people you would not have thought to be possible.
I would definitely recommend this book for children at any age, as well as adults for a quick and sweet read. I will definitely buy the physical copy when it is released.
