I hate when you read a book about people with aids in the 80s and 90s and they die like this is exactly what I signed up for and I hate it here

Loved this book though, the characters were just fantastic and although the parts in 2015 felt random at first it all tied together so well in the end.

I wanted to like this book more than I did.  The dual timelines broke up the story too much for me.  I preferred the story set in 1980s Chicago to the one in the present day.

This book is how I was able to finally pinpoint that I feel grief in my chest and stomach. I haven't read anything this gutting in a long, long time.
