Enjoyable juvenile adventure story. Slips learning how to handle her power but more a self discover confidence book. I loved all the characters, each scene was slightly surprising and not what I had anticipated. I eagerly await the second book.

If you're looking for a cheerful 9-12 book with a sprinkling of magic reminiscent of the classics then this is for you! Willow's magical power is finding lost things which everybody, including Willow, thinks is a bit rubbish really but when Tuesday goes missing Willow is sought out by the most powerful witch in Starfell. She might be the only one who can find it!

You kind of fall in love with Willow from the moment Moreg Veine (the most feared witch in Starfell) introduces herself and Willow's response is "Oh dear." I really loved how her character grew, her infectious joy when she got her own broom, her comical relationship with her cat sorry, kobold and the friends she made along the way and how she became more confident. The only part I didn't like was the arc in which she lost her grandmother and forgot about it and then had to confront it. It just didn't feel necessary. That said, the cheerful narration and beautiful illustrations by Sarah Warburton really brought the energy and magic of Starfell to life.

It was a lovely read that brought a smile to my face and made me giggle. I look forward to reading the next one and hope it retains the lighthearted tone, soulful characters and spontaneous energy!

I feel a little mean giving this 3* especially as I'm a 45 year old and not the target audience.
But saying that, I didn't feel the book lived up to the exciting synopsis and I didn't feel any danger or trepidation at any point during this book.

Thank you to Jonathan Ball South Africa for gifting me a copy in exchange for an honest review.
This was such a cute middle grade book. Filled with quirky characters and a story with such a meaningful message about being true to yourself and sticking up for what you believe in.
Willow Moss comes from a magical family where everyone has powerful magical abilities and she has the least magical ability of them all - she finds lost things.
When last Tuesday goes missing she is enlisted by the most feared witch in Starfell to help find it, she is launched into the most incredible adventure making some amazing friends along the

I loved this book, I had a little cry towards the end and loads of laughs too.
