This book, while a little hard to get through at first, is a great successor to "Reckoning" the book prior to this. Harley is now a student, not just an intern, at Gotham U and is excited to get started with working with the inmates at Arham. While it is weird to see modern ideas and artists referenced in this book, much like the previous, while most iterations of Gotham tend to be timeless, it doesn't deter from the story in any strong way. The threats area little obvious if you know Batman lore, but interesting nonetheless and Harley is just as kickass as she normally is in her stories. If you like the recent Harley Quinn cartoon on HBO Max you will love this.

**Thanks to Netgalley and Publisher for the ARC**

HARLEY QUINN: RAVENOUS is the highly anticipated second installment of Rachael Allen's DC Icons Harley Quinn origin trilogy. AND IT DELIVERS!

Harley's on the straight-and-narrow as she starts her freshman year at Gotham University. And she plans to stay that way. She's doing a great job of saying "no" whenever her vigilante girl gang pals of the Reckoning hit her up to cause chaos and justice. And she's definitely making a name for herself at her internship at Arkham Asylum, where she's partnered with the doctor working with Talia al Ghul. Now if only she could keep inmates like the Joker and Talia from commenting on that darkness inside of her, the darkness that so desperately wants to come out.

Of course, it wouldn't be an HQ story without the multiple romances running through it. There's of course the lingering presence of her ex from RECKONING. Harley still visits her sister at Arkham Acres, where something seems a little off with the girls there. And then there's the cute TA supervising her internship. And of course, there's that slow-growing, tendrilling romance with Ivy.

At the end of RAVENOUS, some loose ends from RECKONING with be tied up and new lingering questions will emerge. Harley will have new allies, new enemies, AND a forever makeover. You'll be left with a distinct hint of what will come in book three, and the insatiable hunger for more HQ content by Rachael Allen.

I got an ARC of this book through work and I am so
excited for it to be released so I can start
recommending it to customers! I thought the first book
was really good but this sequel blows the first one out
of the water!
SpoilerSo many great villains are introduced in this book, King
Shark, Talia Al Ghül, Riddler, and Scarecrow. King
Shark is definitely a huge stand out character and after
this one I'm definitely going to need a book about him.
He's an adorable cinnamon roll of a murder machine.
Even better is the Pamala Isley making an appearance.
She and Harley's friendship/possible romance made
me so incredibly happy. It's incredibly refreshing to read
a book with a bisexual main character who's sexuality
is actually understood and not uncomfortably fetishized.
