This was such a fun book to read. I laughed, cried, and clutched my pearls. I felt so many emotions while reading. Will and Graham’s relationship was so much fun to see develop and grow, and the spicy scenes were 10 out of 10. Chip did a fantastic job with this debut. If you are looking for a beautiful, queer romance, this is the book for you.

This book. It's been a couple days but it seems I still don't have adequate words.

This book IS hope. And it's healing, it's acceptance, it's compassion, and it is love. The final quarter of the book had me wiping tears that did not want to stop falling. I feel like this was such a beautiful, important, and relevant story and I'm so happy that @chip was the one to tell it. He has a beautiful writing voice, and this book captivated me right from the start up to the very end.

Whew! I LOVED this book! I was entranced by it as soon as I started and couldn’t put it down. And that ending?? Tears!

  • There’s nothing necessarily wrong with this book, it’s just a bit meh for me. I like the characters and the dynamic between the Will and Graham but I feel like I’ve read enough to satisfied, and I’m just not feeling a need to really continue with it.
  • Im not too invested in the plot, and the characters have already gotten together, and while there might’ve been some further dilemma or plot point in that regard, I just didn’t really care.
  • I was kinda hoping for more of a rivals to lovers arc but it all just kinda happened to quickly and I’m no longer invested.
  • So yeah, there was nothing wrong with this, just not really for me. I did enjoy the first half though.

You & I, Rewritten has the depth that I long for in romances, and it gave me ALL THE FEELS! It’s best friend energy, big love, familial relationships, found family, and personal, professional, and emotional growth. It’s a feel-good story but also a heart-wrenching one that covers heavy topics and highlights the invisible wounds we carry with us. It’s an incredibly important story.

Will and Graham easily became one of my top couples. Each had their own personal struggles, were honest and vulnerable, and stepped up to support the other without hesitation or judgment.

I don’t think I’ve ever come across the caliber of emotionally intelligent characters that I did in this book. It was such a breath of fresh air to have characters that were so self-aware, vocalized their feelings so freely, and said and did exactly the right things to support each other. I could tell it was important to Chip to bring characters like this to the page and it’s a testament to who he is that he did it so well.

On top of creating beautiful, rich characters, Chip’s writing is top tier. His pacing, character and story development, sense of humor, and research into the book publishing industry just blew me away for a debut novel. There is even a twist that had my jaw on the floor and opened up the story into something I did not expect at all!

My one wish

I'm rating this one star not because I hated it but because it sucked 😭 It's a miracle I didn't DNFed it. I was this close to doing so around the 65% mark but being this far into a book, I decided I need the time I invested in reading this far to mean something.

I don't wanna rant too much, just gonna say this: the characters made me cringe so many times, the romance was so unbelievable and unenjoyable, the writing was trying so hard and failed so bad and all the heartfelt themes were half-assed because of the bad writing and structure of the book, so everything ended up underdeveloped and flat.

I don't know if I got it wrong or if it's the marketing or whatever, but for a book that is supposed to be a rom-com, the last couple of chapters were heavy. I didn't appreciate this one bit. In the end of this, the book felt more like a coming of age or literary fiction because honestly, the romance was somewhere in the background - yet the typical amatonormativity was present. It was NOT a fun experience.

Easiest 5 stars I've ever given.

I haven't been feeling well and this book felt like a warm blanket. Like the characters came out and comfort me and... There's this part:
