Very cute, very fun. A little heavy handed but I dont think we were going for subtlety here. Really enjoyable read (potentially compounded by being a queer uncle myself).

This book hit the spot for me. A perfect balance of sad and feel-good, funny but not too silly. Thoroughly enjoyed it.

I loved every bit of this book. Very cute, emotional, and heartwarming. The relationship between Patrick, Maisie, and Grant was so much fun to see grow and build.

“Self-love for gay people can be an act of survival…when the whole world is designed to point out that you’re different, it can be a way to endure.”

This was a heartwarming tale about a gay uncle stepping up to care for his niece and nephew after their mom's passing. Their mom, who was also his best friend, leaves Patrick in such an emotionally unavailable place to care for the children since he is also trying to mourn his own loss.

Nevertheless, he ends up with them due to an unforeseen circumstance. The daily interactions between Patrick and the kids, Maisie and Grant will make you laugh out loud and steal your heart! His rules that he gives the kids called his “Guncle rules” were amazing!

This book surpassed all my expectations, delivering a perfect blend of captivating fun and poignant heartbreak.

Patrick was 100% Neil Patrick Harris & Grant was Dustin from Stranger Things and you can’t convince me otherwise

This book was fun, sad and sweet. It's the measure of truly great book when it makes me laugh AND cry. The author did such a good job writing complicated familial relationships. I loved it so much.
