I don’t know how to feel about this series, there is something about it that makes me keep listening too, however I finds parts really boring and long. However I always seem to struggle with kings and queens stuff, you know period ones, but is it that? This book was very long, the next audiobook isn’t out yet, but I have added it to my reads list.

Ok going from so much nothing to so much somethings happening in this book is a bit of a system shock but I am loving this series!
All the revelations were so well explained and incorporated that even the ones that originally felt far fetched or just tossed in as a plot twist were turned into integral parts of the story and fit like perfect puzzle pieces!
I'm looking forward to seeing Auren and Slade evolve more in the next book!

My heart hurts because I’m so behind on my reading challenge for 2022. But this book is getting me through a series of transitions in my life: finishing grad school, buying a home, moving to a new town, and starting my journey as an teacher at UA. This series is exactly what I’ve needed: pure escapism and tantalizing entertainment. But this book took the world and characters to a new level. The complexity of the plot and the stylistic nuances of the author have elevated Auren’s journey in new ways. I love when I stick with a series and the writing gets better. Yes, this book was long, but I savored it during late nights and between projects at the new home. I’m so grateful for Raven Kennedy and her fantastic characters. Also, fuck Midas.
